it is use in ratio like a/b=c/d. use of componendo and diviend is a+b/a-b=c+d/c-d.

Componendo and devidendo is special function in mathematics which helps to simplify the equations
general formula for C- D rule is
give expression is
a number is in the form of A / B
it can also written as
A - B / A + B
this is general form of C - D rule
there is much more rule of CD rule but I had tell you only general
