maximum strength of Rajya Sabha is 250 out of which 12 members are nominated by president

* the maximum number of member in rajya sabha is 250 . out of this 238 are elected from different states and from union territory
* and 12 representatives are nominated by president of I CIA
* at present the total number of seats are 245
