Answer: Computer is known as data processor because it processes the data.

First the data is inserted in the computer through input devices. After that, computer translate the data in its own language and then the computer takes action according to the instructions given to the computer. After processing, the data sent back to the user through output devices of computer such as monitor.

There are two sections of CPU.

1) Arithmetic logic unit (ALU): It performs arithmetic operations.

2) Control unit (CU): Its function is to take instructions that is present inside the memory and translate that instructions and then take the action accordingly.l
