conditional formatting is a feature in Excel and other Spread sheet program that allows to apply specific formates (font, colour, border, shading, etc) to a cell or a range of cells on the basis of specified conditions rules.

By using conditional formating we can control the formate in spreadsheet :-

1. number formate

2. font, font style and font color

3. fill color and fill pattern
