Conductors are those through which electric charge can flow easily. For example metal and the human body. In metals, only the negative charge is free to move. Positive charge is immobile. Insulators are those substances in which electric charge cannot flow. For example plastics and dry wood.

When charge is given to a conductor is readily gets transferred over its entire surface and if some charge is given to an insulator it stays at the place where it is put on.

Conductors: The materials which allow the flow of electricity through them are called conductors of electricity.

example: Iron, copper etc.

Insulator: The materials which do not allow the flow of electricity through them are called insulators of electricity.

example: Rubber, Plastic, Glass, Wood etc.
