what is conservation of momentum

If the external force on a system is zero ,the momentum of the system remains constant .
Momentum of two bodies before collision is equal to the momentum after collision .

If there is no external force is acting on the system of particles the momentum of a system particles remains conserved.
Ex. Recoil of gun, Rocket Propulsion etc.
