# Constant error-

It is a source of error that causes measurements to deviate consistently from their true value.

Also known as systematic error.

# Causes-

1) imperfections in the instrument such as inaccurate scale

2) zero of the scale not matching with the pointer

# Remedies-

1) adjustment/calibrating the equipment

2) comparing results of 2/more observers

Hope this is useful...

Constant error: A systematic error same in both magnitude and sign that have the same effect on all the observations under consideration is referred to as a constant error.

Causes:

  • Inaccuracy of the measuring scale
  • Zero error
  • Imperfect instrument of measure

Remedies:

  • Calibrate the measuring scale so that the there is no inaccuracy in the measurement or zero error
  • The results can be compared and checked whether they fall within a given range.
