Although it is very difficult to set out precise definition of Constitution. But nevertheless I will try.

Constitution is highest law of any country. It is the fundamental law of the land through which the State derive its power, responsibility and duty as well. The Constitution confers certain rights and duties to the Citizens. Constitution at the same times sets the limitation upon the power exercised by the government. Hence, any action of government in disregard to the Constitution shall hold no value.

In democracy, there are certain basic rules that the citizens and the government have to follow .All such rules together are known as constitution .
