Mandel is known as the father of genetics because he gave the law of segregation which says that two factors of a character can’t mixed can also separate at the time of gametogenesis. It distributes the different gametes to pair in different offspring, according to the principle of probability. He also performed various types of cross breed to allow the offspring to self breed too.
