he found out three laws which helped in genetics.this work when he did it,no one recognized its popularity in his time.later when he died only many scientists found his intelligent work.he was later called the father of genetics but after he died his 3 laws included:
the law of dominace
law of segregation
law of independent assortment
but his 3rd law failed.
