Heya there!!
A double convex lens is also called as converging lens because it focuses every incident ray after refraction at one point.
A double concave lens is also called as diverging lens because it diverges every incident ray after refraction.
A convex lens is that which is thicker at the middle as compared to the edges. A convex lens converges light rays and hence is also called a converging lens.
Convex lenses are of following types:-
A lens having two spherical surfaces, both bulging out, is called a double convex lens. Usually, a convex lens means a double convex lens.
A lens having one spherical surface, bulging outwards and other surface plane is called a Plano convex lens.
A lens having one convex (bulging out wards surface and other concave ( curved inwards surface) and acting as a converging lens is called a concave convex lens.

A concave lens is that which is thicker at the edges as compared to the middle. A concave lens diverges light rays and hence is also called diverging lens. Concave lenses are of following three types:-
A lens having two spherical surfaces, both curve inwards is called a double concave lens . Usually, a concave lens means a double concave lens.
A lens having one spherical surface ,curved inwards and other surface plane is called a Plano concave lens.
A lens having one concave (curved inwards) and other convex (bulging outwards) surface and acting as a diverging lens is called the convexo- concave lens.
