"Yann LeCun" from Facebook’s AI Research group built the first Convolution Neural Network in (1988 )called LeNet.

Convolutional neural network refers to a deep neural network where a convolution operation is applied to the input. The result is then passed on to the next layer. There is very little pre-processing involved in such neural networks.
