when the ovule get fertilized the corpus lutem is formed and it secrets progesterone and small amount of estrogen so it's functions as endocrine gland

If fertilization takes place...corpus luteum retains till the end of pregnancy..ie., parturition.

I continuously to produces PROGESTERONE...and hence it is called as temporary endocrine gland.
