These conjunctions are used in pairs. They may surround an adverb or an adjective. Some examples are : so, that ; either etc.
- Either he or she play the main role.
- The king was so kind that he offered free food to the poor at his place.
- The room was not only large but also well lit.
⟵ When we use correlative Conjunctions, we must take care to place each of the correlative words just before the word, phrase or clause to be corrected.
- Either Ram and Sam will win the race.
⟵ Here the correlative words are Rama and Sam and the two parts of the conjunctions come just before each of these words.
