what is corrosion and its effect
Answers
Answer:
when a metal is exposed to air or water then corrosion takes place ........this is a process of decay on the metal by a chemical reaction by the environment
because of this corrosion the metal losses it's property and becomes weak.......we can avoid corrosion by few precautions
I think this is the answer...........I hope it helps you
Corrosion:
- The phenomenon due to which metals are eaten away (slow process) by the reaction of air, water, moisture and chemicals within the atmosphere, is called corrosion.
For example, Iron pieces are shiny when brand-new, but get coated with a reddish-brown powder when left for some period of time. This process is generally recognised as rusting of iron.
Other examples of corrosion are - The black the layer on silver and the green cover on copper.
Effects of corrosion:
(i) Corrosion causes damages to car bodies, bridges, iron railings, ships and mostly all objects made of metals, especially those that are created from iron.
(ii) Corrosion is a wasteful method in most cases. Tones of different metals mainly iron get wasted in the country every year.
