On a particular metal bodies due to moisture and air around it's can cause corrosion.

eg:Rusting of iron(A brown colour formation on the iron body.)

To prevent corrosion=

-Painting ,greasing,oiling on the surface of the metallic surfaces.

-keeping them not near or on the moisture surface.

-Galvanising of zinc coating on the metals.

-Forming alloys ( combination of 2 or more metals or mixing of metals and non metals.)

It is the process of degradation of any metal surface due to the attack of atmospheric gases called corrosion.

Rusting of Iron is an example.

Methods to prevent corrosion :

1. By painting the metal surface.
2. By coating the metal surface with zinc (galvanisation).
3. By laminating the metal surface with polyesthene.
4. By applying oil or grease of metal surface.
