corrosion of metals mainly means that the metals react with water and o2 but the reaction results in eating away of the metal due to which the metal is corroded. nobel metals like gold,  platinum do not corrode easily but on the other hand iron does corrodes easily in contact with atmosphere due to its properties

Corrosion:- it is the process in which metals are eaten up rapidly by the action of air , moisture, chemical or any physical factor.

=>Metal like gold, Platinum are less reactive metal so,they can't be corrode.

=>Iron, silver or copper which are highly reactive are easily corroded
