what is corrosion?......what are its effects??????
Answers
Answer:
Corrosion: Corrosion is a natural process that converts a refined metal into a more chemically stable form such as oxide, hydroxide, or sulfide. It is the gradual destruction of materials by chemical and/or electrochemical reaction with their environment.
Effects of corrosion: Some of the effects of corrosion include a significant deterioration of natural and historic monuments as well as increase the risk of catastrophic equipment failures. Air pollution causes corrosion, and it's becoming worse worldwide.

Corrosion ---
The natural process in which upper surfaces of metals are eaten up completely by the chemical processes , air and water. This process is called Corrosion . A common example of corrosion is Rusting of Iron , due to action of air and water , a raddish brown layer called rust developed over the surface of Iron which eats up the whole piece of Iron slowly slowly. Corrosion is a slow process so it can be protected by us by following some methods.
Effects of Corrosion ---
Corrosion makes some effects on the surface of metals , like -
1) because of Corrosion , the most strong metals like Iron and steel used to make Bridges , become weaker and break down after some time of became corroded and causes bridge failure
2) Causes a huge damage to airplanes , and which causes fling problems in air
3) It will be too costly for us to repair the metals being corrode
4) In the corrosion of Iron , some harmful pollutants also formed which causes loss to environment
5) It causes a big damage to the industries and buildings also and can make a danger on millions of lifes
How to prevent Corrosion ---
1) Galvanization (playing of zinc on the metal)
2) Painting the metal
3) By applying Grease
4) Making alloys
5) By applying oil on the surface of the metal
