Answer:

1. Cobalt sulfate

Cobalt sulfate | CoSO4 - PubChem.

2. Chemical Properties

The copper ions present in copper sulfate react with the chloride ions belonging to concentrated hydrochloric acid, leading to the formation of tetrachlorocuprate(II). When heated to 650oC, CuSO4 undergoes a decomposition reaction to yield cupric oxide (CuO) and SO3 (sulfur trioxide).

Answer:

Cobalt sulfate

Molecular Formula :

CoSO4 or CoO4S

Explanation:

Cobaltous Sulfate is a reddish, toxic, metallic salt. Cobalt sulfate is used in the electrochemical industries, as a drier in paints and inks, as a coloring agent, in storage batteries and as a supplement for Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Formation : Cobalt sulfate can be prepared by reacting cobalt metal or cobalt oxide/hydroxide with aqueous sulfuric acid. Heating the solution to drive off the water will give the hydrated forms of cobalt sulfate. If anhydrous cobalt(II) sulfate is desired, the hydrated crystals must be heated to 250°C to drive off the water.
