There are three categories of ministers. The first category of ministers are known as coucil of ministers.these ministers are senior,hold major portfolios;have the right to attend cabinet meetings and participate in its decisions. The council of ministers are selected by the PM who are formally appointed by the President. Council of ministers are also known as cabinet ministers. The term of the council of minsters is equal to the term of the members of the Lok sabha which is five years,it can be dismissed earlier if they lose the confidence of the lok sabha.
