what is covalent,ionic bonds

the bond formed by sharing of electrons is called covalent bond.
the bond formed by gaining or loosing of electrons is called ionic bond.

Covalent is mutual sharer and ionic bond have strong intermolecular forces of attraction between their ions, which cannot be separated easily.
