The party believes in Marxism and leninism.
It opposes the forces of secessionism and communalism.
CPI formed in the year 1925.
Party's significant states are Kerela, west Bengal,punjab,Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The support of the party had declined in the lok sabha election.
