Firstly, it is a chromosome, not cromzone.
A chromosome is present in the nucleus, which is made up of a material called chromatin. It has the so-called DNA(Deoxyribonucleic acid) whose functional unit is a gene. So, basically the DNA carries the genetic material which is in turn carried by chromosome present in nucleus of every cell of a person. When the germ cells(sperm and ova, which are haploid, i.e, have 'n' chromosomes) fuse the chromosome no. doubles(becomes '2n') and the genetic material of mom and dad is combined to form characteristics to the offspring.
