The CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) is the picture tube of the monitor. It is a vacuum tube that contains a negatively charged cathode that shoots electron at the back of positively charged screen. The screen is coated with phosphorus. When the phosphorus is charged the individual dot glows. The image we see on the monitor is made up of thousand of dots and pixels.
