what is crystallisation

01Prachi: Crystallization is the (natural or artificial) process by which a solid forms, where the atoms or molecules are highly organized into a structure known as a crystal. Some of the ways by which crystals form are precipitating from a solution, melting, or more rarely deposition directly from a gas. Attributes of the resulting crystal depend largely on factors such as temperature, air pressure, and in the case of liquid crystals, time of fluid evaporation.

solutes can be separated from a saturated solution by the method of crystallization. it refers to separation of solid solute crystals from a homogeneous solution

Hey!

____________________________

Crystallisation is the process by which pure crystals of a substance are obtained from its impure mixture.

Crystallisation is a better process than evaporation because during evaporation the solution is heated to dry and there is a chance that crystals obtained get decomposed or charred.

During evaporation the water evaporates leaving the impurities behind in crystals whereas during crystallisation, pure crystals are filtered and impurities are left behind in filterate.
