According to the Center of Biological Diversity we are losing species at 1000 or more. The center also mentions that world is going through six mass extension. This is one of the biggest after dinosaurs. Extinction is a natural phenomena, it occurs at a slow rate, but currently more species are going extinct than before.

Answer is (a)

1000 to 2000 times higher
