in biology , the cytoplasm is a material within a living cell , excluding the cell nucleus. it comprises of all the organelles - the cells internal sub structures . All the contents of prokaryotic organisms are contained within the cytoplasm. within the cells of eukaryotic organisms the contents of the cell nucleus are separated from the cytoplasm and are then called the nucleoplasm

Cytoplasm is jelly-like substance present hetween the cell membrane and the nucleus. Various other components (or organelles) of cells are present in the cytoplasm.
Some of them are the following:
- are round transparent bodies by a membrane and filled with fluid (water solution of sugar and salts) Plant cell has a big central vacuole unlike a number of small vacuoles in animal cell.
- are the powerhouse of the cell. They help the cell with energy transfer to help process of respiration.
- is a fine network within cytoplasm which is photographed by an electron microscope. It helps movement of materials within the cytoplasm.
- or is more prominent in animal cells. It helps in Secretions such as saliva from salivary glands and tears from tear glands. Golgi apparatus is dosent or less organised in plant cells.
- are present only in plant cells. Green plastids are alled chloroplasts. Non-green pastids are called chromoplasts.
