Daltonism is color blindness, especially the inability to distinguish red from green.

here's the answer..
Most so-called colour-blind people can see colours but have difficulty in distinguishing between certain colours, between blue & yellow for example, or between red & green. The English physicist & chemist, John Dalton (1766-1844) was 'colour-blind' & so was his brother. They could not distinguish between red & green especially if the light was bad. Dalton made a study of colour blindness & published a scientific paper on it. After this, colour blindness especially of the red-green type is sometimes called Daltonism.
