The abbreviation AC stands for Alternate current.
The abbreviation DC stands for Direct Current.
Difference between AC and DC are given by the following points-
AC-
1) AC changes its direction periodically.
2) It cannot be used to magnetise a soft iron bar.
DC-
1) DC is unidirectional ,i.e, doesn't change it's direction frequently.
2) It can be used to magnetise a soft iron bar.
