Light is both particle & wave. It’s dual in nature.Sometimes it behaves like wave & sometimes particle.

Louis de Broglie(1924) put forward an idea which is known as de Broglie Hypothesis that,“If Waves(EM) have particle properties(photon), Why don’t particle have wave properties?”

Experiements showed that indeed particle like electron show wave behavior. Check forDiffraction !

Thus, Matter in motion have a wave associated with it.”

He used both Quantum Theory of Planck & Special Relativity.

from Quantum Theory of Radiation ,

Energy of photon,

from Special Relativity,

Energy of photon which is massless,

E = p c

Therefore we get,

He suggested that this equation is completely general one that appplied to material particles as well as photon.

If the mass of matter is m & velocity is v → c (nearly light speed c)

then relativistic momentum is p = γ m v

thus ,

So, for any material particles if v << c then

since γ → 1

heya @user
here is your answer

____________________________

=> it was de-broglie who gave the concept of natural symmetry between wave and particle.

He suggested that everything in the universe can show dual character but somewhere it obvious and somewhere not.
