Hey Mate here is your Ans ❤❤❤❤❤...................

Ans .

A decomposition reaction occurs when one reactant breaks down into two or more products. This can be represented by the general equation: AB → A + B. Examples of decomposition reactions include the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen, and the breakdown of water to hydrogen and oxygen.

Examples include

CaCO3(s)+heat→CaO(s)+CO2(g)

- calcium carbonate decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide when heated;

2KClO3(s)+heat→2KCl(s)+3O2(g)

- potassium chlorate decomposes into potassium chloride and oxygen gas when ehated;

I hope it will be helpful to you.....

Answer:

DECOMPOSITION REACTION

The chemical reaction in which one reactant decomposes to form two or more products. This type of chemical reaction is known as decomposition reaction.

Decomposition reaction are mostly endothermic in nature. Energy in the form of heat light or electricity is generally absorbed in these reactions. It causes the cleavage or breaking of the bonds in the reacting substances which decompose to give the products.

For example:

1. DECOMPOSITION OF POTASSIUM CHLORATE

When potassium chlorate is heated strongly, it decomposes into potassium chloride and oxygen.

Here, ∆ = heat

2KClO3(s) ---∆---> 2KCl(s) + 3O2(g)

If the decomposition is carried in the presence of magnese dioxide [MnO2], it takes place at lower temperature. In this case magnese dioxide acts as a catalyst.

2. DECOMPOSITION OF AMMONIUM DICHROMATE

It is yellow coloured solid. when heated strongly, it decomposes into a mixture of chromium oxide, nitrogen gas and water in the gaseous state called steam. Chromium oxide is a grey solid.

Here, ∆ = heat

(NH4)2Cr2O7 (s) --∆--> Cr2O3(s) + N2(g) + 4H2O(g)

At very high temperature generated during the decomposition reaction, it immediately changes to green vapours which are released along with steam. It seems as if a volcano has erupted and is quite often termed as chemical volcano.
