I'm in 10th standard...so we are taught the definition according to ARRHENIUS Concept
Actually in this we deal with the aqueous solution of acid and base
So According to Arrhenius...
ACID :- acid is a substance that dissociates in water to form H+ or hydrogen ions
Whereas
BASE:- base is a substance which dissociates in water to form hydroxide ion or OH- ions
