saprophytes are organism that obtain nutrients from decaying organic matter . fungi are saprophytes . they are not plant . they grow on various kinds of organic material . you will find fungi on a dime piece of leather , over ripe fruits , stale bread and pickles .mushrooms are a type of fungi . the fungi living in soil feed on decaying plant and animal matter and in the processor tea leaves useful substances into the soil .
By doing these activity you will find fungi :-)
place a piece of bread in a container sprinkle some water and close the container open the container after 3 days and observe it carefully you will most probably see some greyish or white is material growing on the Bread this is a kind of fungus .
