An insistent and peremptory request, made as of right is known as demand.
An individual wants to buy a car worth 10lakh rupees. But he cannot afford it with his current earnings. He desires to have that car. His want is not supported by his level of affordability. and  Another individual also wants to buy the same car and can afford it with his current income. The moment he checks into the car showroom and places the payment at the counter qualifies as his demand for the car.
