According to former American President , Abraham Lincoln , democracy in it's simplest definition is a form of government of the people, by the people and by the people .

This stands that in this form of government , people choose their own representatives and take part in the process of decision making.

Unlike dictatorship and monarchy , Democracy gives citizens the human rights like equality , freedom, etc and they are not the subjects of the rulers but the rulers themselves .

Democracy is based on the rules of the citizens of the country not a particular group of people.
