Democracy means a system in which people of the country chooses representatives of their own choice.india is known as democratic country beacause in india , citizens of 18 yrs or above irrespective of their caste, creed , religion, gender can vote or can elect the representatives of their own choice.

democracy is the system of government by the whole population or all eligible members of a state typically through elected representatives.
India is called democratic country because after every five years elections are held and all have equal right to choose there representatives whatever caste or religion they are in India all the citizens below 18 even even womens have the right to vote.
