What is democracy? Why it is considered to be a best form of government?

Democracy provides the freedom to practice the Fundamental Rights which are the basic safeguards and principles for full bloom of a person's dignity and freedom . It is better than autocratic, dictatorship regimes which violate the freedom of the individuals to express themselves. The people are free to choose their representatives in a democracy but opposite happens in dictatorships.......
