Density is nothing but the mass by volume ratio. Water has density 1g/cm3. means 1 ml of water weighs 1gram.
but the stone of same size will be heavy. because in the same volume the stone will have more mass.

The density of a substance is defined as the mass per unit volume of the substance.

We can also say that it is the amount of matter in unit volume of a substance.

Density= Mass/Volume.

SI Unit is kg/m3

Eg: Density of water = 1000 kg/m3
