Answer:

A mental health disorder characterised by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life.

Possible causes include a combination of biological, psychological and social sources of distress. Increasingly, research suggests that these factors may cause changes in brain function, including altered activity of certain neural circuits in the brain.

Answer:

In my opinion, depression is actually an unidentified and a complex concept which has to be faced by all and sundry person. It usually occurs when a person does his performance worse than his expectation, or he is being bullied by someone-saying that he is a failure, he doesn't have talent or he might be not as good as the bullier. It also occurs when between people of different castes, community, races, skin color, looks etc.

It is not a kind of any mental disorder or any other serious damages since those disorders cannot be treated but depression, anxiety, etc can be healed if the sufferer has such a stone heart.
