Answer:

Just remember that this requires a medical diagnosis.

Depression can be described as an emotional pain associated with or characterized by feelings of disadvantage, loss, despair, grief, helplessness, disappointment, and sorrow. An individual experiencing depression may become quiet or lethargic and withdraw from others. This condition usually includes the symptoms of overeating/not wanting to eat or oversleeping/difficulty sleeping. People with this condition may be there because of an overwhelming situation/trauma. Either way, I've been there, so I know something for sure: If you identify with those symptoms, remember to consult a psychologist and don't rush to a self-diagnose.

Some symptoms (You can use this to know if a person has depression):

Behavioral: agitation, excessive crying, irritability, restlessness, or social isolation

Mood: anxiety, apathy, general discontent, guilt, hopelessness, loss of interest, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, mood swings, or sadness

Sleep: early awakening, excess sleepiness, insomnia, or restless sleep

Cognitive: lack of concentration, slowness in activity, or thoughts of suicide, might weight gain or weight loss

Whole body: excessive hunger, fatigue, or loss of appetite

Also standard: Repeatedly going over thoughts

I hope this helps! I almost cried while typing this... too many memories
