Export means sending out local produce or manufactured items or locally available goods to a foreign country. The export happens according to relevant laws according to an agreement. The goods are mailed, couriered , shipped through customs of the local country. Exports indicate the productivity and capability of a country. Exports earn profits and foreign currency. Every country's economy partially depends on exports.
Import means securing/obtaining/purchasing goods from outside the country , and bringing them into the local country for use or resale. The imports happen according to the controls of the customs dept. There are duties to be paid to import goods. Imports cost the country some foreign exchange. We should import only those goods which are not at all available in the country and which are essential for the people of the country.
Net value of Exports - Imports for a country tells its economic capability and its productivity and marketing ability.
