Osteocytes are “bone cells”, they are incapable of movement or shape change. They function in the maintenance and control of bone production. Leucocytes or white blood cells function in the blood stream as part of the immune system. They are responsible for the identification and destruction of pathogens. Leucocytes flow in the blood stream and some are capable of changing their shape (during phagocytosis).
