Hi

Understand carefully (ps. note that carefully is an adverb)

An adjective is a word which describes a noun. Simple, like : That rose is beautiful.

Here, the rose which is a noun is being described as beautiful. The noun's quality is expressed.

On the other hand

An adverb is a word which describes a verb or an adjective itslef. Hence, the name. For example: That wall is painted beautifully.

Another example: He ran slowly.

Note: In both the sentences, the verbs- painted and ran are described as 'being painted beautifully' and 'to run slowly'. Here the verb's quality is expressed.

Hope you understood this :)
