AND = Put a same effect on both sentences .
"as well as"= put a force on that words which is used before it
FOR EXAMPLE
Let study it by an example
He is intelligent and smart .
He is intelligent as well as smart.
Here ,you think that both are same use but look at first here we don't know both quality of that person .
but in second we know the first quality and we just introduced his 2nd also
in as well as use their is focus put on words which are used before "as well as"

AND is a conjunction which join sentence.
"as well as " also a conjunction
but both have different use in sentence and in speak .
(1) if as well as or and are same it mean both are synonymous of each other but it's not like that.
