Atoms

The smallest particle or constituents of matter us called atom.

For Example :- Carbon(C) , Oxygen(O),etc

Molecules

The group of atoms which is chemically combined in a fixed proportion is called molecules.

For Example :-Oxygen(O2) , Water (H2O),etc

Atom:

  • Atoms are the fundamental unit of matter and defining structure of elements.
  • An atom is the smallest possible unit of matter that has properties of an element.
  • Converting molecules to atoms is not always possible.
  • Atoms are made of smaller particles called protons, electrons and neutrons.

Moles:

  • The unit used to define the amount of a substance in chemical reaction is the "mole"
  • Mole is the unit of the amount that contains as many particles as there are atom in exactly 12 grams of carbon-12.
  • Converting to moles in fairly easy because the number remains the same.
  • Mole is represented by the avogadro's number, which is 6.022×10 power 23.
