there is a great difference between atomic number,valency,valence electrons I.e atomic number is the no.of protons present in the atom. combining capacity of an atom with another atom is called as valency and no. of electrons present in the outer most shell is called valence electrons.with help of mollear chart ,electronic configuration of atom we can find valence of an atom
