★ Average speed : The average speed of an object is obtained by dividing the total distance travelled by total time taken.
Average speed =total distance travelled/total time taken
★ Average velocity : when the velocity of an object changes at uniform rate the average velocity is givenby the arithmatic mean of initial velocity and final velocity of an object.
Average velocity=initial velocity + final velocity/2.
