  • Here voting is for electing a single candidate

By election are held if some seats fall vacant or empty in lok sabha or Vidhan sabha . It is when :

  • When a MLA /MP dies /resigns from his post or disqualifies from his /her post then By election is held
  • By election is only for a particular candidate whose seat is fall vacant.
  • By election is for any Candidate of any party whose seat is fall vacant (empty ,blank )
  • The seats are counted only once times after the election held
  • The speaker of lok sabha or governor general issues a notice for by election

General election:

  • General election is a election in which all the country's people have to vote to elect their representative or ruling party
  • It is done mainy after 5 year
  • All party's have a separate candidate for general election.
  • This election is held by election commissioner of india and counting of seats is several times before declaration of result of winning party
