The main difference between combustion and flame is that combustion is heating or burning. And flames are created because most of the energy converted into light energy in burning, resulting in less energy compared to combustion. In short, Heating or burning of something is called combustion and flame is the light energy which are produced during heating (or burning).

hope it helps.

The fundamental difference is that combustion is heating and no flames are created because much of the energy is converted to light energy in burning, resulting in less heat energy compared to combustion. If a flame is created in a combustion process it is referred to as burning.

hope it helps you ☺️
