A monarchy is a form of government where there is an absolute head of the state who controls the country/state. Democracy on the other hand is a form of government which is elected by the eligible voters.

A democratic Government is elected by it's own people through election.
Where as in a monarch form if government a Royal Family rules the country. There is no involvement of it's citizen.
